If you like chemistry or biology and are interested in learning about non-medical career paths, join our Career Training for Scientists program. Our program, in collaboration with Caltech's Diversity in Chemistry Initiative (DICI), was designed to be low stress and fit into your already busy schedule. In addition, our program is a great extra-curricular to add to your resume! Learn the difference between bachelors, masters, and PhDs, hear from speakers in industry, get help drafting your resume, and more!
Total outside of meetings work: read + analyze a scientific paper, draft a resume, optional Caltech tour

Tentative Schedule:
January 10 - 16: "Careers in Science" intro lecture, mentors assigned
January 17 - 23: scientific paper sent out, read for HW
January 31 - February 6: "How to read a Scientific Paper" meeting | Guest Speaker
February 7 - 13: Optional Caltech Tour
February 21- 27: "How to give a scientific Talk" lecture (students will not be making talks)
March 7 - 13: SPRING BREAK
March 14 - 20: "Drafting a Resume" meeting, bring 1st draft | Guest Speaker
April 4 - April 10: "Graduate School" meeting, resume 2nd draft due
April 18 - 24: "Things We Wish we Knew Getting into Science," end of program!
***Note- the actual meeting days/times will be determined via poll once students are registered. Each meeting should be about 1-1.5 hours
